{"id":2653,"date":"2007-06-20T10:44:00","date_gmt":"2007-06-20T10:44:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/elizaphanian.com\/?p=2653"},"modified":"2007-06-20T10:44:00","modified_gmt":"2007-06-20T10:44:00","slug":"a-request-for-help","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/elizaphanian.com\/?p=2653","title":{"rendered":"A request for help"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m reading Mark Noll&#8217;s &#8216;The Rise of Evangelicalism&#8217; at the moment &#8211; nearly finished, and there&#8217;ll be a long post about it when I do &#8211; but I was wondering if people could point out Scriptural references to &#8216;conversion&#8217;, as understood in the Wesleyan\/ Whitefield\/ Edwards sense, ie an inner experience or assurance of salvation, the &#8216;heart strangely warmed&#8217; etc.<\/p>\n<p>I can&#8217;t think of many. The &#8216;born again&#8217; passage of John 3 might qualify, though it&#8217;s a bit of a stretch; more broadly the whole &#8216;remove hearts of stone and give hearts of flesh&#8217; strand seems relevant &#8211; but are there any others?
