I was asked the other night what one film I would take with me to watch on the proverbial desert island, and my instant answer was ‘Magnolia‘. Which I don’t think I’d change on further reflection, though I might wish to have more! Came across this lovely post which explains one element in it. I’m aware that some people can’t cope with the film, but it remains to my mind one of the most profoundly orthodox and gracious films I’ve ever seen. One day I might write a really long review of it – I’d focus on the prologue, in the same way that my thoughts about the fourth gospel focus on John 1 – it goes that deep.
