Did this yesterday, but couldn’t find out how to get the ’embed’ code (HT originally Peter Chattaway, then *Christopher this morning).
Slightly different answers the second time, but the same creature!

Great post on usury
In the words of Ezekiel we read this extraordinary warning:
“If (a man) fathers a son who is violent, a shedder of blood, who does any of these things (though he himself did none of these things), who even eats upon the mountains, defiles his neighbour’s wife, oppresses the poor and needy, commits robbery, does not restore the pledge, lifts up his eyes to the idols, commits abomination, lends at interest, and takes profit; shall he then live? He shall not live. He has done all these abominations; he shall surely die; his blood shall be upon himself.” (Ezekiel 18:10-13)
It seems odd to argue that we must not murder, comit adultery, oppress the poor, rob and be an idol-worshipper, but that we may nevertheless charge interest on a loan. Indeed, the medieval prohibition on charging interest was based entirely on the understanding that it was immoral.
Go read the whole thing. Something I’ve pondered rather a lot.

It turns out that it’s only the non-organic bees that are dying out. When will we hear the message?

Break
I’m off to London for a 24 hour break.
I took the above photo a couple of days ago, and I have been musing on this text:
As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire, and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
That pretty much expresses where I am; as did the photo when I took it. May those who have eyes, see.
See you all soon 😉
